Dissemination Conference Grant
A Dissemination Conference Grant (DCG) funds an oral presentation by an Action participant of the work of the Action in a high-level conference fully organized by a third party (i.e. not organized/co-organized by the COST Action). DCG:
- Significantly increases visibility of the Action in the research community, and can contribute to increasing visibility of the presenter;
- Attracts additional participants and stakeholders and disseminates Action results to relevant end-users at high profile conferences in the field on a topic relevant to the Action.
Call 2025
Deadline for submission of applications: 7 June 2025
Content and focus
Applications should be directly relevant to the objectives of the Action (cf. Memorandum of Understanding) and the objectives of DCGs (increase visibility of the Action, attract new participants, disseminate Action results).
Financial support
Max. 1500 EUR/application. (A total of 8 000 EUR has been budgeted for DCGs in Grant Period 1 and so we expect to fund approximately 6 to 8 applicants, depending on the amounts requested.) Applicants from ITC/NNC countries can request the pre-payment of 50% of the grant, if substantiated.
How to apply
- Before applying, please carefully read the Grant Awarding User Guide;
- Fill in the Dissemination Conference Grant Application (template can be downloaded from e-COST, ‘Supporting documents’ page);
- Fill in e-COST form;
- Upload supporting documents to e-COST system: Grant Application (based on e-COST template), copy of the abstract of the accepted oral presentation, acceptance (or invitation) letter from the conference organisers, CV;
- All documents must be in English.
Reporting and claim for payment of the grant
Within 30 days after the end of the conference, but not later than 15 October 2025, the grantee has to submit via e-COST system the claim for the payment of the grant, along with their report. Supporting documents to be uploaded:
- report template (available in e-COST);
- certificate of attendance, issued by the conference organizers;
- copy of the presentation (ppt or paper);
- programme of the conference or book of abstracts / proceedings indicating the oral presentation;
- photos about the applicant presenting at the conference and/or links to relevant social media posts.
Evaluation of applications
Evaluation of applications is carried out by a five-member Grant Awarding Committee, coordinated by the Grant Awarding Coordinator, based on a pre-set point system (max. 12 points). Applications with the highest amount of points will be awarded a grant, up to the available budget. Evaluation criteria:
- Relevance: how well the application addresses the objectives of the Action (cf. Memorandum of Understanding) and the objectives of DCGs (increase visibility of the Action, attract new participants, disseminate Action results) (max. 3 points). Applications that get 0-1 point will be automatically excluded.
- Quality of proposed conference presentation (max. 3 points). Applications that get 0-1 point will not usually be funded. The following will be assessed under this criterion: significance/prestige of the conference where the presentation will take place; added value to the field of minority language media; originality of the chosen topic, methodology, resources; expected outcome/impact; etc.
- Excellence of applicant (max. 3 points): motivation, academic background and qualifications, years of expertise in research directly relevant for the objectives of the Action, networking skills, etc.
- Priorities (max. 3 points): the presentation of individual papers is co-authored by at least two Action participants; participants of ICML XX; WG members; active use of a minority language in their work
Aspects to be taken into account when evaluating all applications: gender balance (at least 50% female applicants); new applications (persons who have not been awarded another PLURILINGMEDIA grant during the same grant period); max. 3 grants can be awarded to the same conference.

ITC Conference Grant
ITC Conference grant funds an oral presentation of their own work within the scope of the Action by an Action participant affiliated to a legal entity located in an Inclusiveness Target Country (ITC)/ Near Neighbour Country (NNC) in a high-level conference fully organized by a third party, (i.e. not organized/co-organized by the COST Action). ITC Conference grant:
- Supports Action Participant affiliated to a legal entity located in an ITC/NNC to establish a strong network and increase their visibility in the research community through sharing their work and to gain knowledge;
- Can contribute to increasing visibility of the Action.

Short-Term Scientific Mission
An STSM grant funds a visit to a host organization located in a different country than the country of affiliation by a researcher or innovator for specific work to be carried out and for a determined period of time (typically 5 days to a month). The host organization may be located anywhere in the world. Short-Term Scientific Missions:
- Support capacity building and transfer of knowledge through bilateral/multilateral collaborations;
- Support specific/general topic that can help achieving the Action MoU objectives and deliverables (research coordination);
- Are very flexible and inclusive networking activities crucial to establish new collaborations or reinforce existing collaborations across disciplines and different sectors (e.g., academia and industry / SMEs) with possible impact on career development;
- Outcomes (e.g. spin-off publications and (funded) projects) contribute to the visibility and impact of the Action, encouraging other researchers to join.
Call 2025

Financial support
A total of 18,000 EUR has been budgeted for STSM grants in Grant Period 1 and so we expect to fund approximately 8 to 10 applicants, depending on the amounts requested. Typical applications will have a budget of 1500-2500 EUR (in exceptional circumstances, up to 4000 EUR). Applicants from ITC/NNC countries can request the pre-payment of 50% of the grant, if substantiated.

Within 30 days after the end of the activity, but not later than 15 October 2025, the grantee has to submit via e-COST system the claim for the payment of the grant, along with their report on the main achievements of the STSM and planned future follow-up activities, if any. Supporting documents to be uploaded:
- report template (available in e-COST);
- certificate of completion of the STSM, issued by the host insitution;
- photos about the STSM and/or links to relevant social media posts.
Evaluation of applications
Evaluation of applications is carried out by a five-member Grant Awarding Committee, coordinated by the Grant Awarding Coordinator, based on a pre-set point system (max. 16 points). Applications with the highest amount of points will be awarded a grant, up to the available budget. Evaluation criteria:
- Relevance: how well the application addresses the objectives of the Action (cf. Memorandum of Understanding) (max. 3 points). Applications that get 0-1 point will be automatically excluded.
- Quality of work plan (max. 5 points). Applications that get 0-2 points will not usually be funded. The following will be assessed under this criterion: added value to the field of minority language media; originality of the chosen topic, methodology, resources, etc.; clarity and elaboration of the proposed activities ; feasibility of the proposed work within the proposed time-frame and budget; reasonability of the requested budget; expected outcome (scientific articles, conference contributions, bridging research and practice, other tangible results); etc.
- Excellence of applicant (max. 3 points): motivation, academic background and qualifications, years of expertise in research directly relevant for the objectives of the Action, etc.
- Quality of host institution and network (max. 3 points): contribution of the host institution to the proposed work; excellence of the host institution (is it a renowned organization on the field of MLM?); excellence of supervisor/mentor (academic background, relevant professional expertise, experience in supervision, etc. of the person who leads the work of the applicant at the host institution); intersectionality of the network: the collaboration (the applicant and participants from the host institution) includes at least one academic and one practicioner/policy-maker; sustainability of the collaboration (is it possible that the applicant and the host institution will cooperate in the future?), etc.
- Priorities: Action participants/WG members (1 point); active use of a minority language in their work (1 point)
Aspects to be taken into account when evaluating all the applications: gender balance (at least 50% female applicants); inclusion of ITC/NNC countries (at least 50% of the applications); age balance (at least 50% young researchers, i.e. under 40); new applications (persons who have not been awarded another PLURILINGMEDIA grant during the same grant period)
