What happened so far

As we launch our brand-new website, it’s time to look back at PLURILINGMEDIA’s first steps.

Since the official launch of our COST Action in Brussels in October 2024, PLURILINGMEDIA has grown steadily. New members representing a wide range of countries, disciplines, and professional backgrounds have joined our network and Working Groups.

Our early months have been marked by key meetings and the launch of core activities.

Strategic planning took shape through in-person meetings of our Core Group and Working Groups in Budapest (February), Rēzekne (April), and Ljubljana (May). These meetings helped to define the direction of our network and Working Groups, and laid the groundwork for our upcoming events.

In March 2025, we launched our first Call for Grants, attracting strong interest from across Europe.

We have also announced two major events:

  • our Training School on Journalism in Minority Languages in Aberystwyth (15–17 September 2025), organised by Working Group 4 and hosted by the University of Wales Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies, and
  • our General Conference on Media and Language Vitality in Warsaw (4–5 December 2025), led by Working Group 3 and hosted by the Institute for Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

We’re excited about the road ahead and look forward to sharing news, insights and opportunities right here on our website. Welcome to PLURILINGMEDIA!
