PLURILINGMEDIA invites contributions to a new edited volume on the regulation of minority language media. The publication will explore how legal and policy frameworks shape the development, visibility and sustainability of minority language media across sectors such as broadcasting, film, creative industries and digital platforms.
Bringing together both conceptual and case study-based perspectives, the volume aims to critically assess existing regulatory approaches and identify key challenges affecting linguistic plurality. Particular attention will be paid to ongoing transformations in the media landscape, including the role of streaming platforms, technological change and emerging regulatory gaps.
Contributions from a range of disciplines – including law, sociolinguistics and media studies – are welcome. Researchers are encouraged to engage with both theoretical questions and empirical cases.
The volume is edited by Miren Manias-Muñoz, Jarmo Lainio, Noémi Nagy and Alexandra Oszmiańska-Pagett.
Deadline for abstracts: 10 May 2026
