PLURILINGMEDIA represented at the 10th Forum of European Minority Regions in Cuira/Coira/Chur

PLURILINGMEDIA’s AI Committee member Giuanna Emilia Caviezel, PhD student and lecturer at the University of Zurich, was invited to represent PLURILINGMEDIA at the 10th Forum of European Minority Regions, organised by the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) in Cuira/Coira/Chur, Grischun/Grigioni/Graubünden on 23rd and 24th October 2026.

During her intervention, she presented the work and objectives of PLURILINGMEDIA, with a particular focus on its Ad Hoc Committee on Artificial Intelligence and its activities exploring the opportunities and challenges AI poses for regional and minoritised languages in relation to media. She also highlighted the importance of European cooperation and exchange between researchers, media organisations and minority-language communities in addressing the impact of AI on linguistic diversity. FUEN also featured a video of Giuanna in their social media output following the event.

This presentation follows Giuanna’s involvement in PLURILINGMEDIA’s meeting of the AI committee in Valletta earlier this month, during which the group furthered plans for a report on AI and minority languages in the media.
